Laser*

What is it?

“Low Level Laser Therapy”, “Cold Laser Therapy”, etc., are synonymous terms that refer to a relatively new form of therapy using certain wavelengths of near infrared, and infrared light to aid the healing process. Light has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries. Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) is a form of concentrated light therapy. The acronym “LASER” stands for Light Amplification through the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Although LLLT has been in use for over 30 years, it has recently received FDA clearance for several indications. There are over 2,000 published papers concerning its use for a variety of conditions.

How it works

Cells in your body contain light receptors, called chromophores, that, when excited cause the cell to function more efficiently. The result is an increase in the healing response. The light frequencies utilized in LLLT specifically target these receptors, even going deeply into the tissue.

As is our policy at Doan Family Chiropractic, we correct the subluxation first and LLLT will only be available for use on existing patients.  LLLT can be used to speed up the recovery process. It is painless, and safe.

Please feel free to contact us to find out if you are a candidate for Laser therapy. We will be glad to explain the process and cost to you.
