You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

Your First Visit to Our Oklahoma City Practice

Your first visit will take about 45 minutes. You will be asked to fill out the required standard forms. You will then watch a short video while we get your file ready. Dr. Doan will see you and ask you about your health concerns in detail. He will then discuss exactly what he will be doing to get you to a better place healthwise. Since, in this clinic, we use the Gonstead method exclusively, you will be evaluated with these steps:

  1. Dr. Doan will use a temperature sensing instrument on your spine (called a NervoScope) to determine areas of possible nerve interference. Girls will put on a modest full length gown that exposes only the spine, guys will remove their shirts. Large private dressing rooms are provided.
  2. Your spine will be "palpated" or touched to find any area of tenderness, swelling, muscle spasms, etc.
  3. Dr. Doan will move your spine gently to determine exactly which joint has lost its range of motion.
  4. Your spine will then be visually inspected to further determine which bone is interfering with the nerve. Nervoscope Device
  5. Finally, when necessary, Dr. Doan will consult your X-Rays to best determine how to adjust the offending bone.
  6. When the cause of the nerve interference is determined, Dr. Doan will place you on one of 4 tables specifically designed to aid in making the adjustment as precise and gentle as possible.
  7. After you are positioned properly, Dr. Doan will place a specific part of his hand on a specific contact point, and, with a gentle, very fast low force thrust, move the bone to its proper position. Little or no pain is associated with the adjustment.
  8. Dr. Doan will then recommend the next visit time, things you can do at home, and allow you to return to your dressing room.

Dr. Dennis Asks some important questions of interest to Oklahoma City residents - Chiropractor Oklahoma City Dr. Dennis Asks...

Can those with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?
Of course. When developing a care plan, we consider the unique circumstances of each patient. There are many ways we can adjust the spine. The chiropractic method we select will be best suited to your age, size and unique situation.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
